In November 2014 the Calderdale College External Funding Unit attended the Skills Show in Birmingham to promote their projects including Workplace Learning.

The event was a huge success, and by celebrating vocational skills, it is helping to shape the future of the next generation. Attracting almost 74,000 visitors, the show provides hands-on experiences that inspire young people to explore further education, skills and apprenticeships.
It was great to see some of our Workplace Learning providers from the Midlands there, as well as some from Yorkshire and Humber. The theme of our stand was “Skills in the Spotlight” and visitors were encouraged to dress up as various vocational skills, highlighting the variety of training available through Workplace Learning and other projects, as well as hoping to inspire young people to think about their future careers.
The Skills Show is part of Find a Future, the organisation that brings together the nation’s flagship skills and careers experiences. For more information visit www.theskillsshow.com
