We are pleased to announce that Calderdale College have been successful in their bid to undertake the role of the Talent Match Local Strategic Partner in Calderdale.
As part of this role Calderdale College will be engaging with public and Voluntary Community Sector organisations in Calderdale to actively promote the Talent Match Project by chairing and facilitating meetings with the aim to create a mutual action plan with all colleagues who attend.
The College will also be working with the youth engagement partner, employer engagement partners and key workers to identify specific local barriers to employment, learning, engagement and social and health related barriers.
What is Talent Match?
Talent Match is targeting young people who are furthest from the jobs market, including those who are completely outside of the benefits, work and training system and facing severe barriers to gaining the skills they need to get into work.
The aim of the Leeds City Region Talent Match Project is to engage with approximately 2,300 young people aged 18-24 who are long term unemployed and who require intensive support and coaching through a Key Worker approach in order to access a flexible and responsive pathway which will support them to get into, or closer to work.
The project is worth £6.9m over 5 years and will operate across the 5 districts of West Yorkshire including; Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield and will therefore be responsive to need identified by local panels and collated by Local Infrastructure Partners.
