We are delighted to announce that Calderdale College are a delivery partner for the ‘Step Up Into Construction’ project. As part of this the College will be engaging with people on benefits and also those not engaged to support them with valuable work placements and develop the skills needed to start a successful career in construction.

‘Step Up Into Construction’ is a strategic partnership between a number of leading Yorkshire based education providers, local councils, housing associations, social enterprise groups, careers advisors, training boards and public sector and government departments. It will use the money to address the chronic need for more skilled workers by engaging with hundreds of people to deliver relevant work placements, training, further education and employment.
Step Up Into Construction aims to address the major skills shortages in the construction industry has been granted £500k of funding from the England European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme (ESIF) 2014-2020 and match funded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) providing an overall total of £1million.
