Redundancy Support for Employers

If you are a business with plans to make redundancies, you may be able to access fully funded training for your employees at risk of redundancy. Both small and large-scale redundancies can be supported.

Training is co-financed by the European Union’s European Social Fund and the Skills Funding Agency.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for support, your employees must be at risk of, or under notice of redundancy, and your business must be based in:

  • Black Country,
  • Greater Manchester,
  • York, North Yorkshire or East Riding

In Greater Manchester, employees must be aged 19 or over to be eligible for support. And in Black Country, employees must be aged 18 or over.

What support is available?

  • Individuals at risk of redundancy can be provided with training tailored to their individual career plans. Training can focus on the development of existing skills, or individuals can re-train to progress into a new career path.
  • Both regulated and non-regulated training courses and qualifications at various levels can be funded.
  • Training can be scheduled at a date and time convenient to employers.
